- A local roofer inspects it, free. We arrange a roofing contractor who works in your area to look at the problem and explain what they find.
- You decide. You get the findings and, if you want the work done, a quote. No pressure and no obligation.

A free inspection, without the catch
Free roof inspections have a bad reputation, and for good reason. The Government of Ontario warns homeowners about door-to-door sellers who offer a free inspection and then push for a contract on the spot. Here’s how ours is different:
- You ask for it. We never knock on doors.
- Nothing gets signed during the inspection. You get the findings and decide later.
- Your rights stay with you. In Ontario, renovation contracts over $50 must be in writing, and if you sign one in your home you have a 10-day cooling-off period to cancel. Read more about Ontario roofing rules.

Three things worth knowing about roofs in Ontario
- Ontario gets more tornadoes than any other province. It recorded 50 over land in 2024 alone.
- Roofer certification is voluntary here. Anyone can call themselves a roofer, so it’s worth knowing what to check before you hire.
- Permits depend on your city. Most places don’t need one to re-shingle, but the conditions differ. Barrie, Hamilton, Oakville and Waterloo each have their own rules.
